Critical Role Campaign 4 Introduces the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the clan.

This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.

Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
