Vinted Shoppers Share Anger Regarding Size Modifications
Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Reaction
Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification than originally posted because of the remapping.
The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Sizing System Changes
Previously, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Stories
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she stated.
Service Background
The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options following member complaints.
